Solognote
This rustic scarf is handwoven from pure French sheep's wool, undyed and untreated, from the Solognote breed, located in Sologne in the Massif Central.
It is carded and spun by Terre de Laine, before being handwoven on a barge using a Louet loom. The shades are those of the sheep's natural fleece. The absence of treatment, particularly against plants, means that some plant matter may be present in the yarn.
The weaving, done on 4 frames, is inspired by a French textile treatise from 1844 entitled "Traité encyclopédique et méthodique de la fabrication des tissus" by P. Falcot.
Lightweight and strong, this scarf folds into a small roll. Pleasant to the touch, it is also extremely robust and durable: a country-style fabric that will last a lifetime.
Wear your French country fabric with pride.
Hand wash in lukewarm water, never exceeding 30°C, and air dry away from any heat source. Ideally, store in a linen bag.
