Between the villages of Le Somail and Sallèles d'Aude, in Languedoc-Roussillon, lies a magnificent green barge called Ragondin. Inside are a Louet Spring 2 parallel counter-ram loom with 12 shafts, an Ashford 8-shaft table loom, and a small Mirrix tapestry loom.
It is in this rural and peaceful setting that each Vieille Abeille creation is carefully handwoven, surrounded by the cat Tully and the hens Penny and Renny.
Nothing is being rushed.
Weaving is a calming and meditative process, and this tranquil rhythm and peaceful atmosphere permeate the creations, with meticulous attention to detail. Precious care and time are devoted to each piece.
Quality is never a matter of chance.
It is always the result of intelligent effort.

I use 100% pure wool from rural flocks in Arles and the Hautes-Alpes, in southeastern France, or in the Massif Central. I often like to weave with undyed wool, which allows the subtle and beautiful nuances of the sheep's fleeces to be revealed.
Some creations are occasionally made with linen sourced from northern France and processed in the Massif Central. French angora is also used, but it is cruelty-free. The wools never contain acrylic or other plastics. All materials used are clearly labeled.
My candles are made with pure beeswax. No additives, no perfume or scent, just the smell of honey. I buy the wax in bulk from a French cooperative, which in turn sources its wax from small French beekeepers.
There's a dilemma between price and quality. I've decided to pay more for materials and use only 100% French-made products. I manufacture the highest quality products possible. The prices reflect both the materials used and the time required.
The items are made slowly, carefully, and to last. Please be patient, as stock is limited and there are long waiting times for custom-made pieces.
