Basketweave
This cosy hand-knitted heavyweight scarf uses thick pure wool from merino d'arles and prealp breeds from the South of France and is carded and spun at the Valgaudemar mill in Saint Firmin in the Hautes-Alpes. The wool is of the highest quality, selected and processed with great care at all stages, knitted over a great many evenings in my boat on the Canal du Midi. It is knitted in a basketweave pattern giving a delightful texture.
Available in Coffee and Cream colour or Blush Rouge.
The scarf is both light and tough, folding down into a small roll. The wool is gentle and pleasant on the skin, but is also a robust, hard wearing, countryside fabric and should last a lifetime. It is quite a long scarf and can just about be worn draped over the neck without wrapping, but is long enough to comfortably manage a wrap around and be worn in a variety of ways.
Wear your own piece of the French countryside with pride.
Hand wash in lukewarm water, never above 30C, dry outside away from heat sources. Best to store in a linen bag.
