Hopsack
SKU: BM1
A bookmark handwoven on a small Mirrix tapestry loom from natural colour undyed wool, sourced in France.
The traditional 19th century hopsack pattern was the open and loose weaving style used to make the sacks that stored hops, a flower often used in beer production and not a grain as commonly assumed. Jute was the material originally used, but now hopsack is often done with wool, giving a light airy feel to the fabric.
Hand wash in luke warm water, never above 30C, dry outside away from heat sources. Best to store in a linen bag.
